Chief of General Staff, Serbian Armed Forces
The Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces commands the Serbian Armed Forces in accordance with the Law and command documents issued by his superiors.
The Chief of General Staff is the highest expert advisor to the President of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Defence on issues related to preparation, organization and use of the Armed Forces.
The Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces is General Milan Mojsilović.
Chief of General Staff:
In order to execute the acts passed by the President of the Republic of Serbia, i.e. Minister of Defence and command the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as to complete other tasks stipulated by law, the Chief of General Staff issues rules, instructions, directions, directives, decisions and orders.
The Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces is General Milan Mojsilović.
Chief of General Staff:
- proposes a plan for development and equipping of the Serbian Armed Forces;
- assigns, promotes and dismisses officers in the Serbian Armed Forces up to the rank of captain and decides on termination of their service upon a proposal by their directly subordinate commanders;
- gives his opinion on Minister of Defence’s proposal concerning assigning, promoting, dismissing and termination of service for generals, as well as commanding officers performing duties where formation envisages the rank of general, in accordance with the Law on Serbian Armed Forces;
- assigns, promotes and dismisses non-commissioned officers (NCOs) and professional soldiers; assigns civil servants, working within the Serbian Armed Forces, to different duties and decides on termination of their service;
- proposes a manning plan for the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the number of recruits within the Serbian Armed Forces;
- issues rules for training of the Serbian Armed Forces;
- issues rules regulating civil-military cooperation (CIMIC);
- establishes training and specialization plans both for professional military personnel and reserve;
- passes the Code of Honour for members of the Serbian Armed Forces;
- decides on situations in the service of NCOs and officers up to a rank of Captain in the Serbian Armed Forces;
- promotes to an initial NCO rank;
- decides on deployment, salary, termination of service in the Serbian Armed Forces and other relations in the service of civilian personnel serving in the Serbian Armed Forces;
- deals with other issues, as determined by Law.
